Services for Children with Autism

Clinical Associates of the Finger Lakes (CAFL) offers a range of services for children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder through a total team approach.  Members of these teams may include special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and typically a provider who is assigned as a Program Manager who oversees the entire team.  Each service plan is dependent upon a given child's unique needs.

Specialized Programs

CAFL has teams that can implement specialized programs designed for each individual client. We also offer strong programs in the following models:

  • Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support
      (SCERTS)
  • Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
  • Floor Time-Play/Relationship-Based Approach (DRA)
  • Combination Approach - a wide range of teaching strategies is implemented which reflects various theoretical backgrounds.

Training in these models of service delivery is mandatory for all new employees and ongoing training is available to support all team members through our Autism Program Managers and Trainers.  Autism trainers and supervisory staff provide training and consultation, when needed, working closely with the Program Managers on each child's continued development.

Flexibility in programming and developing therapy based on individual client needs is a cornerstone of the CAFL philosophy.  We strive to provide quality services that meet the needs of each and every client and family.
